UAE Notice Period Rules for Limited and Unlimited Contracts
The notice period is the time between an employee submitting their resignation and their last working day. In the UAE, this is governed by the employment contract type.
Standard Notice Periods:
- Limited (Fixed-Term) Contracts: Typically requires a 30-day notice period, unless specified otherwise in the contract (max 90 days).
- Unlimited Contracts: Requires a minimum of 30 days and a maximum of 90 days notice.
- Probation Period: If resigning during probation to leave the UAE, 14 days notice is required. If joining a new employer, 1 month notice is required.
